Turbidity Sensor

Our turbidity sensor is based on nephelometric method (ISO 7027 – EN 27027). A light beam from a laser diode is sent to the sample through an optical lens. The 90 degree scattered light by suspended particles is collected by a photo detector and converted to an electric signal proportional to the turbidity of the sample.

Measures: Turbidity

Key Benefits

  • Nephelometric turbidity sensor (ISO 7027 – EN 27027)
  • Measures 90° scattered light from suspended particles using a laser diode and optical lens
  • Converts scattered light into an electrical signal proportional to turbidity
  • Standard 650 nm red laser; optional 860 nm infrared laser to avoid color interference
  • Suitable for drinking water, aquaculture, and municipal or industrial water treatment outlets
  • Integrated bubble trap prevents interference from air bubbles
  • Cylinder can be opened for calibration with formazine solution
  • Bottom valve allows emptying for calibration or manual cleaning
  • Requires connection to EL200 controller for display, calibration, and measurement transmission
  • Supports RS232/RS485 with Modbus protocol or analog 4-20 mA output
